Back to BirthParents at their Best |
Informed Consent, Adoption Options Background, and The Lynn Franklin Fund
I feel this survey matters so much because I did not have infomed consent. I had biased coersive information designed to get me to relinquish. Perhaps the person giving me that information felt she was doing her best and the best thing given the circumstances, but in looking back, I have no question in my mind. The information presented wasn't complete and it wasn't in my child's best interest nor in mine. It was good for the prospective adoptive parents who raised my son.
I want expectant parents considering adoption to have all the information they need! We have to give good information to this study in order to get the best information together for the professionals. This particular study has been funded by the Lynn Franklin Fund and it is being sponsored by the Donaldson Adoption Institute. I feel these two backers are trust worthy. They are NOT the minions of the adoption industry!
Want to know more about the survey I just recommend?
Lynn Franklin is an author and her book is the first one I read to help me heal from Adoption. I highly recommend it.

Here is a little more about her...
"Lynn Franklin is a first/birth mother and reform advocate who has been in reunion for over 20 years. An accomplished writer and agent, Lynn told her story in May the Circle Be Unbroken: An Intimate Journey into the Heart of Adoption. The Fund was created to honor her life and her service as a founding member of DAI’s Board of Directors, and to build on our pioneering and long-standing work in the field." (source link!)
